Families, students and staff filled Katy Heritage Park for Katy ISD’s annual Brick Unveiling Ceremony, where the District honored its 2024-25 Campus Teachers of the Year with commemorative bricks installed as permanent tributes to their service.

Katy ISD highlighted its continued tradition of academic excellence and innovation at the 2025 State of the District event held in the Leonard Merrell Center.

The school ranking experts have spoken for 2026, and according to Niche.com Katy ISD boasts some of the nation’s top-rated public schools.

The Legacy of Katy Independent School District continues to grow. The District, which serves more than 95,000 students, earned the coveted top spot in the recently released Niche 2026 Best School Districts in the Houston Area ranking, marking this the 5th consecutive year Katy ISD has earned the distinction as the No. 1 destination for public education in the region.

The excitement of the first day of the 2025-26 school year had Katy ISD families and students alike grinning with eager anticipation of the year ahead.

First responders and emergency personnel from across the region joined their Katy ISD counterparts and school principals today for the 2025 Annual First Responder Forum. The event emphasized collaboration and partnership through an integrated, area-wide emergency response strategy to ensure the safety of students and staff as the school year approaches.
